Dammit, I could have sworn I sent my turn in. Well, it's sent now.

Seeming kind of flaky these last couple of days.

I have turn files from everyone, but I've been using my time a little less efficiently than ideal. At present, I'm at the library, and my shift lasts around 3.5 hours. If all goes according to plan, I'll be able to post a link to next turn in 4 to 5 hours.

This was an entertaining turn. I'm trying out about 5 new things in one battle, some of which counter-synergize. I actually scripted my combat mages, whee! Still, I'm probably going to lose quite a few arcanists next castle attack.

I got a message from somebody about renting the sword of Aurgelmar, but I'm using it this and next turn, so I sent them a refund in advance.

So, Cthulhu just passed me in research. That is not a good sign.

I killed a heavily equipped thug with lightly supplemented PD.

Lost a mage, though. And I haven't gotten to play the castle defense game again yet. Anyone know if regular battles happen the same time as break siege attempts?

Yes, but sometimes things get weird, and the reinforcements stay put instead of showing up.

Hmm. Maybe I'd better work on building a strong perimeter instead then. Thanks.

The Trident is a two handed weapon that lets your character act twice. Not "attack twice" but actually act twice. Like, two spells per round.

Dizzam, really? That means it is actually good. At least as good as the hundreds of experience points the winning unit gets. I am sorely tempted.

EDIT: I think the Arena is neutral dominion, so immortal units actually die for realz there. Course, I don't have any such units, so it doesn't matter to me. Not sure whether gods carry over the bonus HP from provinces they were in though.

They totally do, but don't get the other associated bonuses. I'd send The Terror Of Flight, but the arena is above water.

That would have been hilarious. If I could see the future, I totally would have tried making you an item that allowed movement aboveground.

Question: how often do human infantry hit the head of golem-sized enemies in melee? Does weapon length have anything to do with it?

The arena is neutral, so immortals can die. And retreating kills you.

Interestingly enough, you can't be permanently sent to Hell. The Arena calls you back to fight until dead, leading to hilarious loops.

Also, shapeshifting units with no hands in one form can drop the trident into a lab (or not).

Huh. So does winning with a dragon, say, then dumping the trident in your lab mean that there isn't a designated champion next time? Does it let you theoretically get multiple tridents?

Like all artifacts, the Trident is unique so there is only one. The current holder of the trident is the "hero" that is forced into the Arena.

Removing the trident is really just a way to get the free XP without subjecting a valuable guy to repeated battles in the arena.

Eye medicine? Sounds like it could be an interesting class. I've seen an optometrist a few times, and each time they put a droplet of something in my eye to prevent glaucomas or something I am filled with irrational paranoia over whether I'd have noticed if my vision degraded significantly over the last couple years.

Just attached all the turns to the game. I didn't realize until now, but the file Ermor sent me is titled early_atlantis.2h.

Alright. After a number of minor obstacles, some on my end, some not, we have the next turn up. Mediafire is being lame on both computers, so RS it is for now.

Turn 37:

EDIT: make that turn 38, actually. The name is wrong, but the files should be right.
